Hi Mike! I'm writing you in regards to my pet tarantula. Gary Bogue had actually forwarded you a letter I wrote him about six months ago, about Tallulah and her loss of appetite. She hadn't eaten in month so I was worried. You had responded that everything was probably okay, as some tarantulas will skip some meals; it may be molting, or worse case scenerio, she may be sick with internal parasites. Well, sure enough, as soon as I recieved your response via Gary, she was back to eating 1-2 crickets a week. So anyways, things were fine for a few months, and then about 2 months ago she stopped eating. I offer her a cricket just once a week and leave it with her for a little bit, but she's just not interested. She's never been interested in worms, and the fact that they burrow, I haven't bothered with them. I'm really getting concerned because it's been over 2 months now, and I think she may have lost a little weight too. On the flip side, she is fairly active and still drinks her water regularly. She shows no signs of molt. Her humidity and cage temp are in range, as least according to my guide book. I thought about changing her cage, but I read that that only needs to be done once a year, preferably after molt, because tarantulas hate having the surroundings disturbed. She's my first spider, so I afraid I've done something wrong without knowing. Anyways, I'm hoping you could give me some advice. I get a little lost in those chat rooms for spiders, so I thought I'd go straight to the expert. She's approximently 2-3 years old, chilian rose. Her cage was last changed in february. Any advice would be much appreciated. Feel free to respond to my email at megisrad@sbcglobal.net. In fact, that would be better because I don't really know my way around this site either. Thanks again!
