March 13, 2008Trollisms #3 -from the American Tarantula Society's Forum Magazine Volume 16, Number 1, 2007![]() “Why has no one told me black lights will attract cows? Me n Lynda were out last night continuing the search for Paruroctonus variabilis (no luck only 1 Serradigitus in 3 hrs and miles of roads) and we were working up a road then suddenly i heard the sound of things running up behind me and Lynda says “they are following us” i turn and look and there are 4 cows at the fence across the road staring at me. as i continued down the road they would wait till i got a ways away then run to catch up then stand there watching me till i got too far away then run to catch up. this went on for about a half mile till they ran into a fence at the end of their pasture. lol, too funny and kind of creepy.”

October 30, 2007Trollisms #2 -from the American Tarantula Society's Forum Magazine Volume 15, Number 4, 2006![]() “Carlsbad NM, i dont remember which conference year it was, whos car i was in or the people i was even with but i know it was the first year i started strapping on knee pads over my pants cause of my bone spur. anyways a small group of us were driving down the road one night looking for places to collect things and we had just pulled over on the side of the road to say something to the car following us when i spotted one of them giant Solifugids they have there run into the light of the headlights so i jump out and go down on my knees to corral the little monster till some one could loan me a container. and as im calling to the people piling out of the car to bring me a container i manage to get the speed demon onto my hand so i stand up with it going from one hand to the other to the other to the other and people are starting to surround me trying to get a look at the thing i had just grabbed so while i waited for something to put it in i go in to this spew on how fast and voracious these guys are and how they will go after you and try to hamstring you and right on cue something bites the heck out of my calf where the knee pad strap is so i scream and start stomping my leg trying to get it out of my pants and out falls this giant Solifugid who darts away at the speed of light! gotta say i have never seen so many peoples jaws drop at the same time in my life, and im pretty sure at that moment before i screamed a good portion of them were just thinking “hamstring lol good one troll like anyone would believe that.” ![]() Eremobates sp. from Antioch, Cal., this critter is no where near the size of the gianormous monster that got me in NM. February 13, 2007did Greenday kill punk rock?
well did they? i can remember when they were a little nothing underground band willing to play any obscure club. lets hear it for Gilman Street Project! then they sold out.
what happened to good ole hardcore, punk, thrash, death metal (oh ok death metal will never die all hail abscess , has the captalistic pop machine devoured yet another style to subdue the masses with? it sure seems liek it and to me Greendays rise to fame will allways be seen as the beginning of the downfall of not so civilized civalization. i really shouldnt post under the influance x^X and WTF is an Emo?????
